Accordingly, both sides will share experience and bolster cooperation in joint offshore and onshore extraction of oil and gas, providing petroleum services, refining oil and training workforce.

A joint steering committee, then a joint study group, will be set up to identify areas of cooperation and conduct technical and trading assessments on possible projects.

Working with Daniel Cameron, Secretary for Energy (Ministry of Federal Planning, Public Investment and Services), PVN President Đinh La Thăng expected that the Argentine Government would support cooperation between PVN and ENARSA and that the two countries’ ministries would sign cooperation agreements in the near future.

Mr. Cameron said that his ministry is ready to assist PVN to explore and tap oil in Argentina’s territorial waters. He agreed on the need to sign a governmental level cooperation agreement at an upcoming session of the Argentina-Việt Nam joint committee.

Earlier, in their working visit to Latin America, the PVN delegation met Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega and penned an overall agreement on petroleum cooperation and a pact on joint research with Nicaragua’s national petroleum corporation Petronic.

In Bolivia, PVN was received by Minister of Hydrocarbons & Energy Oscar Coca Antezana and Minister of Foreign Relations David Choquehuanca Hualkyer. A Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation with Bolivia’s national petroleum corporation (YPFB) was signed on the occasion.
