Permanent Secretary of Brunei’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade embarks on working visit to VN

VNGOVNet – The permanent secretary of Brunei's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Mr. Pegiran Dato Osman Patra paid a working visit to Vietnam on March 18-20.

In his working session in the morning of March 19 with Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Vũ Dũng, Mr. Osman Patra highly appreciated the significant achievements gained by Vietnam over the past time.

Mentioning the bilateral ties, the two sides showed their happiness about the good evolution of the friendly and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries, through many senior visits and cooperative deals between different Vietnamese and Brunei ministries. The two sides highlighted the importance of the celebration of the 15th anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic ties (1992-2007). They agreed to co-organize practical activities to boost mutual understanding between the two peoples. Many solutions were also discussed to promote trade, investment, and cooperation in education-training, agriculture, oil and gas, tourism, and labor.

The two sides came to an agreement on organizing a meeting of the Vietnam-Brunei Joint Committee in Brunei in 2007.

The host and the guest also mentioned many regional and international issues of common concern and agreed to cement their inter-ASEAN cooperation to build up an ASEAN community on three major pillars of Politics, Economy and Culture.
