People should be center of development process

VGP – People should be the center of development process, said Deputy PM Nguyen Thien Nhan at the 2nd Singapore Business Leaders Program (SBLP) on May 7.

Deputy PM Nhan highlighted successes, experiences and challenges to Vietnam when connecting the whole vigorously developing Asia with its development strategies till 2020 and beyond.

He appreciated the role of Asian firms, especially Singaporean companies, in Vietnam’s economic development process. Singapore is now Vietnam’s third biggest investors.

In his speech, the Deputy PM also touched upon some major problems the region and the world need to solve to achieve sustainable growth. Human factor should be placed in the center of development process, he said.

The SBLP is an assembly of esteemed group of political leaders, industry champions and thought leaders dedicated to deepening the understanding of leadership and human capital issues for a new and globalizing Asia.

The 5-day program provides a platform for business leaders to gain insights on the geo-political landscape and economic rise of Asia, business opportunities, building sustainable organizations, human capital and leadership development, leading across borders as well as driving growth in Asia.
