Party leader welcomes top Cambodian legislator

VGP – The top Cambodian legislator, Samdech Heng Samrin, expressed his belief that Viet Nam would successfully host the 132nd IPU General Assembly, contributing to the realization of the Union’s common goals while meeting with Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in Ha Noi on Saturday.

He also thanked the Vietnamese Party and people for the significant support for Cambodia during its national liberation and current national development.

Party leader Trong congratulated Cambodia for its significant achievements in recent years, affirming that Viet Nam always attaches importance to consolidating and enhancing the traditional friendship and comprehensive and long-standing cooperation with Cambodia.

He highly valued the bilateral cooperation between the two countries’ national assemblies and urged the two legislatures to strengthen supervision of the implementation of inked agreements between the two Governments for mutual benefits.

The Vietnamese leader also extended thanks to the Cambodian National Assembly and the top Cambodian legislator for their active support for Viet Nam to host the 132^nd IPU General Assembly, saying that the participation of the neighboring country’s delegation would help enhance the success of the event./.
