Party chief welcomes Lao Minister of Public Security

VGP – Party General Secretary, State President Nguyen Phu Trong received Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party Central Committee and Minister of Public Security Vilay Lakhamfong who was on a working visit to Viet Nam on February 20 in Ha Noi.

Minister Lilay Lakhamfong congratulated Viet Nam on its important achievements in recent times. He also hoped that the sound development of the Laos-Viet Nam would flourish, bringing practical benefits for both peoples.

The guest leader took the occasion to brief the host leader about Laos’ recent situation, especially in national security work, and the outcomes of the talks between the two public security ministries. Minister Lilay Lakhamfong affirmed that the Lao ministry will coordinate closely with the Vietnamese side to effectively carry out the signed cooperation agreements. 

Party General Secretary Trong congratulated the Lao newly-accredited Minister of Public Security, affirming that the Lao ministry has contributed to the development of the Viet Nam-Laos special relations. 

Mr. Trong praised the outcomes of the talks and the results of cooperation between the two ministries. The Party chief noticed that their relationship deserves to be a pillar in the two countries’ ties. 

Finally, the host leader proposed the two sides maintain close coordination in protecting national security and maintaining social safety and order; boost information exchanges; and support each other at regional and international forums on crime prevention and control, especially in cross-border crimes./.
