Party chief receives high-ranking delegation from the Lao Front for National Construction

VNGOP – Party General Secretary Nông Đức Mạnh had a reception and cordial talks on June 26 in Hanoi to a high-level delegation from the Lao Front for National Construction (LFNC) headed by Mr. Sisavath Keobounphan, LFNC President.

Mr. Sisavath Keobounphan informed General Secretary Nông Đức Mạnh about Laos' recent situations, especially in speeding up socio-economic development, improving people's living standards, maintaining national security and defense. He also mentioned various activities conducted by the LFNC and the increasingly close and effective cooperation, solidarity and friendship between the LFNC and the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) and some other Vietnamese agencies, including the Committee for Ethnic Affairs and the Government Committee for Religious Affairs, helping to solidify and deepen the Vietnam-Laos relationship.

Party chief Nông Đức Mạnh expressed his pleasure at the Lao people's great achievements in national construction, socio-economic development and expanding international relations. The achievements, made under the leadership of the Lao Party, he said, will help to elevate the position of Laos in the region as well as in the international arena. The Vietnamese Party, State and people are always proud of traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, the General Secretary emphasized.

General Secretary Nông Đức Mạnh expected that, through this visit, the LFNC will continue to closely cooperate with the VFF and other Vietnamese agencies in order to fortify national solidarity in each country as well as the Vietnam-Laos friendship.
