Party chief receives Cuban diplomat

VGP - Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in Ha Noi on September 11 received outgoing Cuban Ambassador to Viet Nam Herminio Lopez Diaz.

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong receives outgoing Cuban Ambassador to Viet Nam Herminio Lopez Diaz, Ha Noi, September 11, 2017

At the reception, the Party leader hailed Ambassador Herminio Lopez Diaz’s excellent services during his tenure in Viet Nam.

Mr. Trong asked Ambassador Herminio Lopez Diaz to convey his message of sympathies to President Raul Castro, the Party, State and people of Cuba over heavy losses caused by hurricane Irma.

The Vietnamese Party and people always stand side by side with the Cuban Party and people, Trong said while expressing his wish for bilateral collaboration to grow further and mutual close coordination at multilateral forums.

In turn, the Cuban diplomat expressed satisfaction with progress made in Cuba-Viet Nam ties, particularly in cooperation between the two parties, and partnerships in trade, investment, agriculture,defence, security, and people-to-people exchange.

He appreciated the great support he had received from the Party, Government and public agencies throughout his tenure in Viet Nam over the past four years, and Viet Nam’s sharing of its theoretical and practical experience on economic reform with Cuba.
