Party chief joins Lao New Year Festival

VGP - Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong paid a visit to Laos and attended the Lao New Year Bunpimay Festival, on April 12-13.

The visit was made at the invitation of President of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic Choummaly Sayasone.

At the meeting with the Lao President, the Vietnamese leader extended his best New Year wishes to the Lao Party, State and people.

He also thanked the Lao side for its assistance to Viet Nam in the national liberation and reunification, affirming that Viet Nam will do its utmost to promote the two nations’ relationship in the future.

He confirmed in any circumstances Viet Nam will do its best to help Laos maintain and foster this valuable relationship to pass over to the future generations.

Mr. Chummaly Sayasone highly valued the visit of Party Chief Nguyen Phu Trong, regarding it as a manifestation of the close relations between the two sides.

The Lao leaders spoke highly of renovation achievements of Viet Nam’s Party and State and asserted that the Lao side will accelerate the comprehensive relations sustainably.  

In the meeting with the Viet Nam Consulate General, the Vietnamese community in four Southern provinces and Vietnamese businesses investing in Laos, Party Chief Trong appreciated their efforts in enhancing the bilateral relations, hoping that the Consulate General will help the two nations’ localities cooperate in economics.
