Party chief attends 67th anniversary of VN-China diplomatic ties

VGP - Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong attended a friendly meeting in Beijing on January 13 to celebrate the 67th founding anniversary of the Viet Nam-China diplomatic ties.

Speaking at the event, Party leader Trong stressed that the healthy and positive development of the Viet Nam-China relations is the premise and important driving force for the two countries to further advance the bilateral ties for the sakes of the two people as well as the region and the world.

He said during his visit, the two sides have discussed and reached common consensus on major orientations and measures to strengthen political trust, consolidate the relationship and improve the effectiveness of their cooperation in all fields.

Both sides agreed to consistently address disputes at sea in line with fundamental principles, maintain peace, stability and healthy development of the bilateral ties.

The people-to-people friendship is the social foundation and source of power for fine and long-term development among countries. The sentiment between the two nations would be closer and more attention should be paid to educating young generations abot the tradition of the bilateral ties, emphasized the Vietnamese Party chief.

Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Yu Zhengsheng highlighted the significance of Party leader Trong’s on-going visit to China, which is taking place on the occasion of the 67th anniversary of diplomatic ties.

He said over the past years, the two countries have properly settled border delimitation on land and in the Gulf of Tonkin via negotiations.

He believed that any complicated issues will be tackled appropriately and any factor would not hinder the development of bilateral ties thanks to straightforward and friendly discussions./.
