Party chief Trong begins four-day visit to Hungary

VGP – Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong arrived at Ferenc Liszt International Airport in Budapest on Sunday, beginning his four-day official visit to Hungary at the invitation of Hungarian PM Hungary Viktor Orban.

The Party chief is accompanied by Deputy PM, FM Pham Binh Minh, Head of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Central Committee (CPVCC) Economic Commission Nguyen Van Binh, Chief of the CPVCC Office Nguyen Van Nen and several Cabinet ministers.

This is the first trip by a Vietnamese Party leader to the European country since institutional transformation took place in the region. 

During his stay, Party General Secretary Trong will meet with the host country’s leaders, witness the signing of several cooperation documents, and deliver remarks at the second Viet Nam-Hungary conference of rectors of universities.

Viet Nam and Hungary established diplomatic ties on February 3, 1950./.
