Party chief, PM receive Iranian Parliament Speaker

Meeting the Iranian guest, the Party leader affirmed Viet Nam’s consistent foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, diversification and multilateralization of relations on the basis of international principals, equality and mutual benefits.

He suggested the two countries strengthen coordination at regional and international forums while promoting the exchange of delegations at all levels as well as exchange activities in the fields of culture, sports, education-training and tourism.

Mr. Ali Ardeshir Larijani asserted his determination to further the friendship and cooperation between the legislative bodies, States and people of Viet Nam and Iran, expecting to enhance cooperation with Viet Nam in such areas as petrol, mining, tourism, aviation, pharmaceuticals, security, defense and banking, among others.

He invited Party General Secretary Trong to pay a visit to Iran in a proper time and the Vietnamese leader accepted the invitation.

PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc asserted that Viet Nam attaches importance to the traditional relationship between Viet Nam and Iran, welcoming strengthened cooperation between the two nations’ parliaments at his meeting with the Speaker the same day. 

Mr. Ali Ardeshir Larijani supposed that his official visit to Viet Nam made on the occasion of the 45^th founding anniversary of the diplomatic ties will open more cooperative opportunities to deepen the two sides’ relationship in the upcoming time. 

Iran expects to enhance cooperation with Viet Nam in fields of information technology, cyber security and environmental protection, said the guest, adding that the Iranian Government welcomes and facilitates the Vietnamese businesses to invest in Iran. 

To upgrade the two-way trade to US$2 billion, Mr. Ali Ardeshir Larijani supposed that the two sides need to establish a direct air route and simplify visa procedures to accelerate tourism promotion activities.    

Viet Nam is willing to share experience in agriculture with Iran, said the PM, expressing his hope that Iran will soon reply on the Memorandum of Understanding on rice trading with Viet Nam and facilitate Viet Nam’s large corporations to invest and launch operation in Iran. 

The PM hailed Mr. Ali Ardeshir Larijani’s participation in Viet Nam-Iran Business Forum on the occasion of his official visit to Viet Nam. 

Viet Nam hopes to enhance cooperation with Iran in other fields such as harbor development and construction and auxiliary industry, he added.
