Party chief: Japanese Emperor’s visit rated special event

VGP – Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong said the State visit of Japanese Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko is a special event, marking a new development in the friendly relations between Viet Nam and Japan.

The Party chief affirmed Viet Nam attaches importance to consolidating and enhancing the relationship with Japan.

He also expressed thanks to Japan for its great and valuable assistance for Viet Nam’s socio-economic development process over the recent years.

The Japanese Emperor hailed Viet Nam’s achievements in national reform and construction while hoping the two countries would continue cooperation for peace across the world.

The two sides agreed that the bilateral relationship is developing well and the on-going visit would help further strengthen it both in depth and width.

Party chief Trong took the occasion to congratulate the Japanese Emperor, Empress and Royal members health, prosperity and happiness./.
