During six days of sitting, the committee members will also discuss and give opinions to a project to develop a complete infrastructure system in service of the nation’s industrialization and modernization course in 2011-2020 and other crucial issues.

Regarding the overall infrastructure project for industrialization and modernization in the 2011-2020 phase, General Secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng, in his speech, emphasized three strategic goals including the completion of the socialist-oriented market economy, the development of human resources and the establishment of the overall infrastructure project.

He affirmed that the socio-economic development strategy for 2011-2020 aims at achieving sustainable and rapid development, regarding quality, productivity, effectiveness and competitiveness as top priorities.

Policies, mechanism and solutions need to focus on mobilizing all social resources, both domestic and international, for infrastructure investment, address poor and ineffective investment, diversify investment models and encourage the participation of private and foreign sectors.

The Party chief also asked the committee members to discuss and propose the Resolution for Party building work.

The Political Bureau suggested three main urgent issues including the prevention of degraded ideas, morals and lifestyles, the establishment of a leading and managerial contingent to meet requirements of industrialization, modernization and international integration as well as the identification of individual responsibilities of the head of Party committee and administration.
