As reported at the conference, PVN had realized most of the production targets assigned by the Government from 3 to 53 days ahead of schedule, thereby contributing significantly to the country’s GDP growth and the State budget balance in 2017.

PVN’s total production last year increased by 1.6 million tons of oil equivalent (6.7%) compared to the plan assigned by the Government at the beginning of the year. The group extracted its 380 millionth ton of oil on August 20, 2017.

Electricity production met the year’s plan eight days ahead of schedule and exceeded the plan by 481 million kWh (2.4%), with the group’s 150 billionth kWh recorded on December 17, 2017.

The group’s nitrogenous fertilizer production reached 1.65 million tons, fulfilling the year’s plan 53 days ahead of schedule and exceeding the plan by 128,000 tons (8.4%). PVN reported its 15 millionth ton of nitrogenous fertilizer on November 22, 2017.

PVN’s petroleum production in 2017 hit 6.24 million tons, equivalent to 92% of the year’s plan, with the Dung Quat Oil Refinery reaching its 50 millionth ton of products on December 16, 2017.

PVN contributed VND97.5 trillion (US$4.29 billion) to the State budget in 2017, fulfilling the whole year’s plan two months ahead of schedule, exceeding the year’s plan by VND22.9 trillion, and representing an 8% increase compared to 2016.

Meanwhile, the implementation of the enterprise restructuring project was carried out urgently and strictly, in accordance with the PM’s direction.

At the conference, participants focused on analyzing the achievements and weaknesses, whilst pointing out lessons and proposing solutions in order to successfully achieve the production and business targets set for 2018 and the following years.
