PM welcomes new Ambassadors

VGP – PM Nguyen Tan Dung on Wednesday met with new Ambassadors to Viet Nam, namely Mr. Khalid Ibrahim Abdulaziz Shohail Al-Qahtani and Mr. Uyn Lai, of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Myanmar, respectively.

In his meeting with Mr. Khalid Ibrahim Abdulaziz Shohail Al-Qahtani, PM Dung expressed his pleasure at the positive development of the Viet Nam-UAE relations, affirming that Viet Nam attaches importance to accelerating ties with the UAE.

PM Dung suggested the two countries should beef up the exchange of delegations at all levels and bilateral cooperation in such fields like economy, trade and investment, and coordinate closely at international forums, especially the United Nations.

He also asked the UAE to recognize Viet Nam’s market economy status soon, support the Southeast Asian country to cope with climate change, sea level rise, and boost labor cooperation.

Viet Nam will create favorable conditions for the UAE’s business community to invest in the country, pledged PM Dung.

Meeting with Ambassador Uyn Lai, PM Dung said that the traditional friendship and cooperation between Viet Nam and Myanmar have been developing well over the past years.

He praised Myanmar’s role in taking over the ASEAN Chairmanship in 2014, affirming that Viet Nam will strive its best to work closely with Myanmar in order to contribute to the overall success of the ASEAN Presidency year.

The two Ambassadors committed to sparing no effort to reinforce their countries’ ties with Viet Nam./.
