PM welcomes Egyptian President’s future visit to VN

With the two-way trade turnover of US$400 million each year, the PM supposed that the two nations need to accelerate the trade value in the future, adding that Viet Nam is willing to export its goods to large supermarkets in Egypt and sell Egyptian commodities in the country.

It is necessary to encourage information exchange, trade promotion and cooperation between their businesses, he said, welcoming the Egyptian President's future visit to Viet Nam.

Minister Sahar Nasr announced the outcomes of the working sessions with Vietnamese functional agencies, including the preparations for the meeting of Viet Nam-Egypt Joint Committee.

She added that at the meeting with leaders of the Ministries of Industry and Trade and Planning and Investment, the two sides agreed on cooperative agreements.

Egypt welcomes Vietnamese businesses to share experience and cooperate with the Egyptian side in such areas as shipbuilding and harbor, she said, adding that a business forum will be organized during the Egyptian President’s visit to Viet Nam in the future.

Mr. Mohab Mamish noted that Egypt has inaugurated an economic zone to connect the Mediterranean Sea with the Asian region, expecting that Vietnamese firms will study investment opportunities in the area.

PM Phuc hoped the two sides will sign cooperation agreements in trade and investment, emphasizing the bilateral cooperation potential in garment-textile, processed farm produce, and fisheries, proposing Egypt facilitate businesses' cooperation in oil and gas exploitation and provision of services relating to this field.

The PM also suggested the inter-governmental committee devise specific programs to boost the bilateral cooperation in a more pragmatic and efficient manner.

On the day, the PM hosted Chairman of Charmvit Group from the Republic of Korea Lee Dea-bong.

The PM affirmed that the Vietnamese Government committed to creating favorable conditions for foreign investors, including those from the RoK to launch long-term investment in Viet Nam.

Chairman of Charmvit Group Lee Dae Bong promised to maintain long-term and sustainable operation in Viet Nam, contributing to local budget and social security works in the nation.
