Torrential rains caused terrible inundation and split residential areas in the central localities.

The Government chief ordered quick and thorough aid to make sure that instant noodles and water are delivered to all the victims.

In Hà Tĩnh, seven people were reported dead and missing until October 5 and the total damage is estimated at VND 353 billion. Thousands of households and a large area of farm crops were sunk into water. The rains also caused road landslides there.

Until 7 PM on October 5, flood hit six out of seven districts in Quảng Bình, killing 14 people and plunged 35,500 houses into deep water. Some 4,000 residents had to be relocated to safer areas.

The total losses caused by flood in Thừa Thiên-Huế amounted to VND 42.458 billion. Huge landslides could be seen in various roads.
