The PM made that statement while attending the 120thanniversary of the establishment of Tra Vinh Province on January 14.

After 28 years of re-establishment, Tra Vinh Province has achieved the average economic growth more than 11% per year over the recent four years, listed among provinces in the Mekong Delta with the highest economic growth. In 2019, the province’s economic growth reached 14.85%.

If the province maintains the high economic growth in the upcoming years, it may become one of the development pillars for the Mekong Delta, said Phuc.

He suggested Tra Vinh Province take advantages of a coastal locality, enhance high-tech agriculture, focusing on aquaculture development and encourage investment in rural agriculture attached to new rural establishment.

He stressed the need to improve the investment and business environments and the competitiveness of the economy as well as promote the realization of the Party, Government and National Assembly’s Resolutions.

PM Phuc asked for strengthening management and effective use of the natural resources in line with environmental protection, responding to climate change, natural calamity, high sea-level rise and diseases.

The province should take advantage of achievements of the Industry 4.0 to tackle challenges in all spheres of economics, society and the environment, said Phuc, requesting effective implementation of polices on redistributions and social security, ensuring that no one left behind.

On the occasion, PM Phuc granted the first-class Labor Medal for Tra Vinh Province’s authorities.
