PM stresses growth quality improvement at Gov’t monthly meeting
VGP – The Government makes efforts to reach high growth and improve the quality of growth for safer and happier lives for people and more sustainable and successful operation for businesses, asserted the PM at the Government monthly meeting on April 2.

Regarding the Government’s determination to attain the economic growth of 6.7% in 2018, the Government chief highlighted the quality of growth, including the improvement of other sectors such as society, defense, security and diplomacy.
He hailed the Ministries of Justice, Transport, Health, Construction, Agriculture and Rural Development for announcing programs to reduce 50% of administrative procedures.
PM Phuc asked to closely control inflation and stabilize the macro-economy, requiring the State Bank of Viet Nam to effectively monitor the monetary policy, interest rates and harmoniously manage the fiscal policy with other macro-policies for boosting growth.
Referring other nations’ trade protection policies and threats to global trade war which directly affect Viet Nam’s exports and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the country, the PM requested the Ministry of Industry and Trade to join hands with other relevant ministries and agencies to launch prompt measures.
The Government leader asked to propose roadmaps to adjust electricity price and expenditures of education and health service in a suitable manner to curb inflation this year.
As Viet Nam was listed among nations unready for the fourth industrial revolution, the PM stressed the need to establish a flexible and effective digital strategy.
Other issues regarding culture, environment, traffic accidents, apartment block fires in Ho Chi Minh City and Ha Noi, education and communications works were discussed at the meeting.
