PM stipulates functions of int’l border-gate economic zone manager

VNGOP – The PM made a decision yesterday, February 4, stipulating functions, duties, power and organizational structure of the Management Board of the Bờ Y International Border-gate Economic Zone.

Accordingly, the Management Board will build up and develop the economic zone in line with the planning scheme, plans and schedule approved by the competent State agencies in order to ensure the concentrated management over activities in investment, socio-economic and cultural development, supplying of public and auxiliary services relating to investment, production and business activities within the zone.

Besides, the Management Board will conduct international cooperation and cooperative plans for development among the provinces within the development triangle of Việt Nam, Laos and Cambodia; work with the local authorities of these provinces to ensure activities within the economic zone suitable to bilateral or multilateral conventions between the three countries.

The Management Board is permitted to supply some authorized public services, carry out promotion programs and negotiations at home and abroad, deal with problems arisen from the implementation of investment projects, and negotiating fees for the use of infrastructure, services and public works within the zone.
