Speaking at the event, the PM highlighted the need to achieve an overall growth in a greener and cleaner way to serve the people.

He hailed the improvements in the business and investment environment as well as higher social and market beliefs.

PM Phuc referred to the contribution of the MPI as a chief of the general staff of the Government in the national socio-economic development. The Ministry consulted the Government the establishment of institutions, policies, strategies, plans, middle-term public investment plans and measures to enhance the economic restructuring, growth model renovation, growth quality, labor capacity and economic competitiveness.

As the State investment accounted more than 37.6% or more than one third of the total social investment, the Ministry has to make plans for allocating investment capital for the Government, said the PM.

The Ministry needs to inspire breakthrough initiatives on reform and consult the Government to tackle obstacles for development, he said, asking to issue criteria on evaluations of indexes to increase the quality of planning and infrastructure projects.

The MPI should fulfill its tasks to establish institutions, plan strategies, stabilize the macro-economy, create an impetus for renovation, tackle development barriers, and increase the capacity of the economy.
