VNGOP-Prime Minister Nguyễn Tấn Dũng has expressed his desire to beef up long-term cooperation with the Republic of Korea (RoK) in all spheres, particularly in economics, trade and investment.

While receiving Kim Byong-joon, Chairman of the RoK Presidential Commission on Policy Planning, in Ha Noi on June 22, PM also told the visiting statesman that his Government would create favourable incentives for RoK businesses to invest further into the country.

The government leader urged the RoK to continue to aid Viet Nam in infrastructure development, facilitate the import of Vietnamese goods and utilise more Vietnamese export labour.

For his part, Kim said he was impressed by Viet Nam’s recent rapid development and asserted that the RoK will continue to pump official development assistance (ODA) into Viet Nam’s infrastructure, employ more guest workers and grant scholarships to students from the Southeast Asian nation.

Highlighting Viet Nam’s favourable investment environment, Kim said RoK businesses are keen on importing agricultural products and investing in production in Asia’s second fastest growing economy to boost exports to a third country.

The RoK official went on to thank the Vietnamese Government for its assistance to more than 1,000 RoK enterprises operating in Viet Nam and urged Viet Nam to continue to support them.
