PM requests urgent measures to overcome floods

VGP – PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc has recently issued a public telegraph to direct ministries, agencies, localities to surmount consequences of typhoon Damrey and provide emergency aid relief for flood victims in the Central and South Central Coast of Viet Nam.

The storm caused heavy damages for the South Central Coast and Central Highlands Region, especially Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, and Khanh Hoa provinces. 

The PM  tasked the local authorities especially Thua Thien-Hue, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh province, and Da Nang city to keep a close watch on the rain and flood developments; evacuate local residents from dangerous areas to safer places. They were urged to take necessary measures to protect dykes and reservoirs and prevent floods in urban areas especially in the avenue of the APEC Summit Week. 

In addition, the local authorities in Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, and Khanh Hoa provinces were assigned to mobilize military forces to search for the missing; support disaster victims by providing accommodation, medical and food aid, guiding people to take measures to prevent post-flood disease outbreak, repairing damaged houses and restoring the power network./.
