The PM made that statement at his reception for out-going Chinese Ambassador to Viet Nam on February 6 in Ha Noi.

The PM stressed that achievements in economic-trade relations are highlights in the two nations’ relationship, adding that China continues the largest trade partner of Viet Nam and the Southeast Asian nation is the top trade partner of China in ASEAN.

The Vietnamese Government attaches importance to the relationship with China, affirmed PM Phuc, suggesting the two sides realize agreements reached by the two Parties and nations.

He proposed the two sides strengthen political trusts through regular meetings and delegation exchanges between their high-ranking leaders as well as actively launch three cooperative groups in fields of infrastructure, monetary finance and discuss issues related to maritime cooperation, control disputes, maintain peace and stability on seas to promote Viet Nam-China relations more sustainably.

The Ambassador expressed his thanks to the Vietnamese PM, Government, ministries, agencies and localities for facilitating him to fulfill his tasks in Viet Nam.

Applauding strong development in Viet Nam’s socio-economic development and the two nations’ relations over the recent years, the Ambassador asserted to enhance the relationship to a higher level.

During the Ambassador’s term of office in Viet Nam, the two-way trade value increased from US$58.78 billion in 2014 to US$93.69 billion in 2017.

China ranked eighth among 125 nations and territories investing in Viet Nam.
