The PM made that statement at his reception for newly-appointed U.S. Ambassador to Viet Nam Daniel Kritenbrink on December 26 in Ha Noi.

The Government leader hailed contributions of Mr. Daniel Kritenbrink to the two nations’ relationship when the Ambassador was the Senior Director for Asian Affairs at the National Security Council.

PM Phuc suggested the two sides enhance trade exchanges to bring benefits to their people, expecting the Ambassador to promote high-ranking delegation exchanges and ask the U.S. Government to address issues proposed by the Vietnamese side.

The Vietnamese Government will make efforts in cooperation with the U.S. to strengthen their Comprehensive Partnership, he confirmed.

The U.S. regards Viet Nam as one of most crucial partners not only in the region but in the world, Ambassador Daniel Kritenbrink said, extending his congratulations to Viet Nam on the success of the Viet Nam APEC 2017 year and thanks from President Donald Trump for Viet Nam’s warm welcome during his official visit in last November.

Highlighting the economic and trade relations as key pillars in Viet Nam-U.S. relationship, the Ambassador hoped that Viet Nam will tackle remaining issues and take advantages of opportunities in this field.

The U.S. will continue supporting Viet Nam in such areas as improving the maritime capacity, clearing unexploded bombs and mines, and enhancing people-to-people exchanges.
