The PM lauded on the two nations’ relationship, expecting the Ambassador to cooperate with the Vietnamese functional ministries and agencies to accelerate the bilateral relations in all fields.

The two sides need to enhance cooperation in politics and diplomacy and other potential areas such as economics, trade, investment, tourism and labor as well as supporting each other at international forums, the PM suggested.

He proposed the two nations promote the inter-Governmental Committee mechanism and launch agreements reached at the second session of the Committee in January 2014, agreeing to assign Vietnamese functional agencies to coordinate with the Ambassador to step up specific cooperative areas.

PM Dung told the diplomat that the opening of the Vietnamese Embassy in Oman will soon be considered.

For his side, Ambassador Sultan Saif Al Mahruqi asserted that Oman is ready to assist Viet Nam in accelerating cooperation with other nations in the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf.

He suggested the two sides approve the inter-Governmental Committee mechanism to propose new cooperative areas, mechanisms and policies for the two countries’ enterprises to access each other's markets.

The Ambassador conveyed the Oman King and PM invitation to pay an official visit to Oman to PM Nguyen Tan Dung.

Viet Nam and Oman established diplomatic relations in 1992. The two nations has signed nine bilateral cooperative agreements.

Currently, a total number of 200 Vietnamese laborers are working in Oman.
