PM receives Secretary General of Japan’s Liberal Democratic Party

VGP – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc hosted a reception for Toshihiro Nikai, Secretary General of Japan’s ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and Chairman of the Japan-Viet Nam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance (JVPA), during his recent trip to Tokyo to attend the enthronement ceremony of Japanese Emperor Naruhito.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc receives Toshihiro Nikai, Secretary General of Japan’s ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and Chairman of the Japan-Viet Nam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance (JVPA)

At the meeting, the Vietnamese leader congratulated and highly appreciated Japan’s successful organization of the Emperor’s coronation ceremony, voicing his belief that under the Reiwa Era, Japan would continue to harvest significant achievements in the cause of building a prosperous country.

PM Phuc affirmed that the Viet Nam-Japan extensive strategic partnership is growing strongly, finely and comprehensively across diverse spheres, including economy, trade, investment and labor.

For his part, LDP Secretary General Toshihiro Nikai thanked the PM for his presence at the enthronement ceremony of the Japanese Emperor, while speaking highly of the cooperation achievements between the two countries over recent times, especially in the areas of parliamentary exchange, locality-to-locality cooperation and people-to-people exchange.

The two sides agreed to accelerate collaboration between the two countries’ investors and businesses, strengthen the exchange of all-level delegations, facilitate exchanges between Vietnamese and Japanese lawmakers, and further enhance friendship and mutual understanding between the two countries’ peoples, towards developing bilateral friendly relations and cooperation in a more effective, substantial and comprehensive manner.

On the occasion, PM Phuc also met with parliamentarians in the JVPA and representatives of the Vietnamese intellectual community in Japan.
