PM receives Romanian Secretary of State for Global Affairs

VGP – Romanian Secretary of State for Global Affairs Monica Gheorghita asserted the commitments to enhancing the signing of the EU-Viet Nam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and the EU-Viet Nam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA).

Monica Gheorghita made that statement on May 14 at her meeting with PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc in Ha Noi. 

The PM welcomed the Romanian Secretary of State for Global Affairs’s visit to Viet Nam to attend the ASEM Conference on “Promoting Economic & Social Inclusion in Asia & Europe” in Nha Trang City and the political consultancy with the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 

Monica Gheorghita said that her visit aimed to realize agreements and commitments reached by the two sides during PM Phuc’s official visit to Romania. 

Romania expects to promote cooperation between the two sides’ enterprises in all spheres, she asserted. 

For his side, Phuc suggested that the two nations soon organize the 16th meeting of the Joint Committee on economic cooperation, accelerate the signing of frame cooperative documents such as the cooperative agreement on crime prevention and control, culture cooperation program in 2019-2021 phase and the educational cooperation agreement. 

He highly spoke of the close coordination and mutual support between the two nations at the international forums, especially within the frameworks of the UN and ASEM. 

He expressed thanks to the Romanian leaders’ strong commitments and support for the Vietnamese Government for the early signing and approval of the EVFTA and EVIPA within the tenure of Romanian Presidency of the Council of the EU. 

He referred to cooperative agreements inked during his recent official visit to Romania, urging the two sides to soon launch inked agreements to soon raise the bilateral trade turnover to a higher level.
