PM Phuc stressed that out of the bilateral trade, the two-way trade between Viet Nam and Ontario made up a large amount of proportion. Within the framework of the APEC Summit Week, 11 countries issued a declaration on the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP). Mr. Phuc suggested the two counties not only promote bilateral free trade but also linkages with economies. Thanks to development advantages, the two sides own abundant opportunities to spur trade and investment, especially in potential aspects, including mining and manufacturing.

PM Phuc assessed that almost all Canadian investors made success story in Viet Nam. However, the two-way trade ties failed to catch up with respective potentials. The Vietnamese Government will create favorable ways for Canadian businesses to do business in Viet Nam.

In reply, Ms. Kathleen Wynne said that there are abundant opportunities for further development. She revealed that a delegation of businesses arrived in Viet Nam with a view to seeking business opportunities. They are chiefly operating in infrastructure, education, green industry, and healthcare. In addition, Ontario large-scale organizations stand ready to support Viet Nam to deal with such challenges as climate change and environment. The guest leader also hoped to raise the trade turnover between Viet Nam and Ontario to a higher level from US$ 3 billion./.
