PM receives Lao Minister of Public Works and Transport

VGP – PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc on April 20 received Lao Minister of Public Works and Transport Bounchan Sinthavong and Managing Director of the Republic of Korea (RoK)'s Hyundai Motor in charge of commercial vehicles S.K. Han in Ha Noi.

At the meeting with Mr. Bounchan Sinthavong, the PM asserted to create favorable conditions for Laos to develop infrastructure, expecting that his upcoming official visit to Laos at the end of this month will promote the two nations’ cooperation in all areas.

Viet Nam will facilitate Laos's exploitation of Vietnam's Vung Ang seaport to enhance its socio-economic development, said the PM.

Minister Bounchan Sinthavong said that under the direction of Lao PM Thongloun Sisoulith, he discussed with the Vietnamese Minister of Transport to make preparation for PM Phuc’s official visit to Laos, expressing his gratitude to the Vietnamese Minister of Transport’s support for Lao Ministry of Public Works and Transport.

The same day, welcoming Mr. S.K. Han, the PM hailed Hyundai’s cooperation with Truong Hai Automobile Co., Ltd. in producing trucks and bus in the central province of Quang Nam.

The PM assigned the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Quang Nam Province’s People’s Committee to propose favorable conditions for further cooperation between the two sides, announced Mr. Phuc.

Mr. S.K.Han expected that the cooperation will help promote the auxiliary industry, automobile spare parts, increase the localization rate for Viet Nam’s automobile industry and raise the exports of Viet Nam’s cars.
