PM receives Japanese, Hungarian Ambassadors

VGP – PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc on September 12 hosted separate receptions for Japanese Ambassador Kuinio Umeda and Hungarian Ambassador Öry Csaba in Ha Noi.

At the meeting with the Japanese Ambassador, PM Phuc hailed the Viet Nam-Japan intensive strategic partnership and the increasing number of Japanese investors in Viet Nam in such areas as banking, infrastructure and high-tech agriculture to bring benefits for both sides’ enterprises.

He highly valued the cooperation of the Japanese Embassy and the Ambassador in enhancing cooperation between the two countries over the recent years.

Earlier on the same day, the PM visited Viet Nam-Japan University, a symbol in the two nations’ relationship.

The Ambassador expressed his thanks to the PM for his concerns for Viet Nam-Japan University, adding that a number of Japanese investors hope to pour more investment in Viet Nam.

He suggested the two nations’ functional agencies facilitate to enhance cooperation between their businesses in fields of thermal power development, support industry, hi-tech agriculture, and climate change response.

The same day, at his reception for Hungarian Ambassador to Viet Nam Ory Csaba, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc asked the two sides to coordinate in preparing for the upcoming visit to Viet Nam by Hungarian PM Orban Vicktor .

The Ambassador expected that the upcoming visit of the Hungarian PM will promote the two nations' relationship, with around 70 business corporations and a business forum will be organized for the two sides’ enterprises to meet and enhance cooperation.  

Under the suggestion of Hungarian PM Orban Vicktor, Hungary will increase the scholarships for Vietnamese students from 100 to 200 ones in the near future.

Hungary is Viet Nam’s largest official development assistance (ODA) provider in the Central Eastern Europe, the PM said, thanking the Hungarian Government’s support for the construction of Can Tho Oncology Hospital which can meet health care demands of 20 million people in Viet Nam’s Mekong region.

The host proposed the Ambassador encourage Hungarian enterprises to invest in Viet Nam in areas of huge demands such as health, water management and food processing.
