PM receives Hyosung Group Chairman

VGP – PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc hosted a reception for industrial conglomerate Hyosung Chairman Cho Hyun-joon on February 8 in Ha Noi.

PM Phuc hailed Hyosung as one of the largest investors of the Republic of Korea (RoK) with important projects located in the Northern, Central, and Southern regions in Viet Nam.

As Viet Nam and the RoK have established strategic partnership, the Vietnamese Government attaches great importance to facilitating Korean investments in Viet Nam, PM Phuc said.

The Government chief also suggested Hyosung take a strategic role in manufacturing 500kV transformers in Viet Nam in accordance with the Southeast Asian country’s regulations on environmental protection.

In reply, the Hyosung Chairman spoke highly of the success of the Vietnamese football team at the 2018 AFC U23 Championship in China, regarding this as a symbol of the fruifull cooperation between the two countries.

Hyosung will continue expanding investment in Viet Nam, he said, adding that the Group is also interested in manufacturing transformers.

The Chairman also suggested the host leader organize a forum to lure more Korean investment inflows into Viet Nam./.
