On behalf of the Government, PM Phuc highly valued the Viet Nam Executive Leadership Program (VELP), a collaborative initiative between the Vietnamese Government, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Vietnam Program at the Harvard Kennedy School.

PM Phuc said that Viet Nam is selecting solutions to convert itself into a ‘new economic tiger’. Hence, he proposed experts research and propose appropriate themes for VELP.

Professor Vallely said that Viet Nam was at important moment, seeking large-scale reform. The professor recommended Viet Nam pay attention to the response to climate change in the Mekong Delta region; tackle urban issues and restructuring at credit institutions. He also noted the importance of promoting production of high added value rice is also an important measure for the country./.
