PM Phuc said that the people-to-people exchanges play important role in the bilateral ties. Hence, the Government chief welcomed practical activities of the Association to the traditional ties. The PM also promised that the Vietnamese Government attaches importance to and creates favourable ways for the operation of the Association.

Last year, over 800,000 Vietnamese tourists travelled to Thailand. Meanwhile, Viet Nam welcomed only 200,000 Thai visitors. The PM suggested the Association renovate operation and contribute to spurring tourism cooperation and other fields between the two countries.

He also took the occasion to call on the Association to serve as a bridge to promote business linkages.

In return, Chairman Prachuap Chaiyasan revealed that the Association has spared no effort to perfect operation and stands ready to serve as a friendly bridge between the two countries and people.

The Association has encouraged Thai people to visit Viet Nam to consolidate mutual understanding and boost people-to-people exchanges, the Chairman asserted./.
