The PM made that statement at his working session with leaders of Hoa Binh Province on December 11 in Hoa Binh Province. This is the second working session between the PM and the northern mountainous province over the recent two years.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Phuc required the province to focus on developing tourism as well as promoting agricultural and forestry processing as the province is capable to provide more than 400,000 m3 of wood every years, making contributions to accelerating Viet Nam’s exports of wood and wooden products.

The Government leader suggested developing high-tech and organic agriculture to supply for Ha Noi and heading to exports.

The province should promote regional connectivity, production chain and value chain to expand its ability to get access to markets, he said, adding that Hoa Lac high-tech park and urban areas are growth pole for further development of the province in the upcoming time.

The PM proposed Hoa Binh Province launch natural calamity prevention programs, especially at high-risk areas as well as tackle obstacles in improving its competitiveness.

According to the report of the province, the province’s growth in 2018 ranked 19th in the country with 8.36% and the proportion of poor households ranked 12th with 14.9%.

In comparison with six localities in the Northwest, the province has four criteria ranking first including the number of communes meeting new style rural criteria, the number of Foreign Direct Investment projects and capital, industry-construction structure, and the proportion of poor households.
