PM presents proposal on Cabinet’s organizational structure for 2021-2026

VGP – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Monday presented a proposal on the Cabinet’s organizational structure for the 2021-2026 tenure to the National Assembly.

Accordingly, the next Cabinet will have 27 members, including the Prime Minister and four Deputy Prime Ministers, and 22 heads of executive ministries and bodies, one member fewer compared to the previous tenure.

The four Deputy Prime Ministers will be in charge of the following four domains: (i) diplomacy and international integration, law-building, structural organization, religious and ethnic affairs; (ii) general economy and inspection, settlement of complaints and denunciations; (iii) sectoral economy; (iv) science, education and socio-cultural affairs.

There are 18 ministers of national defense, public security, foreign affairs, home affairs, justice, planning and investment, industry and trade, agriculture and rural development, transport, construction, national resources and environment, labor-invalids and social affairs, culture-sports and tourism, science and technology, education and training, and health.

Four heads of ministerial-level bodies are Minister-Chairman of the Committee for Ethnic Affairs, Governor of the State Bank of Viet Nam, Chief of the Government Inspectorate, and Minister-Chairman of the Government Office.

Pham said the above organizational structure was designed to ensure the operational effectiveness and continued innovation of the Government in accordance with the Constitution and laws./.
