PM orders to put TEIN2 VIETNAM into reality in 2007

VNGOP – The PM has just agreed with the proposal of the Ministry of Science and Technology on implementing the Project "Trans-Eurasia Information Network, Phase II (TEIN2 VIETNAM)" in 2007.

June 22, 2007 7:32 AM GMT+7

The Ministry of Science and Technology was entrusted to collaborate with relevant agencies in realizing the project under current stipulations.

TEIN2 is a cooperation project of ASEM in which the European Commission (EC) pledged to fund €9.75 million. The project also attracts financial contributions from Japan, Republic of Korea, Singapore, and Brunei. The network connection and applications were started in early 2006. Vietnam is one of the six Asian beneficiaries of the project, together with China, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, and Malaysia.

TEIN2 aims at providing and fortifying the Trans-Eurasia axis lines, creating equal opportunities in accessing network resources, functioning as an information technology and telecommunication bridge, and improving collaboration in research and training among ASEM countries, especially developing countries in Southeast Aisa.
