PM orders socio-economic development outlined for 2011-2020
VNGOVNet – The Prime Minister on January 25 ordered the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) to work with the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) on drafting the 10-year socio-economic development strategy, period 2011 to 2020.
The PM assigned the two agencies to sum up and assess socio-economic development for 2001 -2010 based on the socio-economic situation in 2001-2005 and estimation for 2006-2010 and the achievements made in 20 years of renovation. At the same time, they are due to forecast domestic and international development patterns in 2011-2020 that can directly affect national socio-economic development.
They are supposed to include viewpoints, directions, tasks and goals of socio-economic development in the draft and after the draft is approved by the PM, devise action plans to implement the strategy.
They are also assigned to develop specific strategies for each public agency for submission to the PM in June 2007. The PM will appoint the principal implementers of the strategy.
