Addressing a national conference on promoting investment in agriculture in Da Lat city, Lam Dong province on July 30, PM Phuc insisted that Viet Nam’s agriculture be a processing and logistics center for the global agricultural products and agricultural trade.

He recognized the significant transformation of the Vietnamese agricultural sector, but noted a reality that Viet Nam agriculture has few international brands and investment in Viet Nam agriculture still remains modest.

The labour force in Viet Nam’s agriculture still remains high, accounting for 48% of the country’s total labour forces, compared to just 27% in Japan and the U.S., the Government leader said, stressing the need for the sector to strengthen the application of machinery and techniques to improve the efficiency of agricultural production.

He called for greater attention to the market organization work to ensure that quality goes hand in hand with brands.

PM Phuc requested Viet Nam agriculture keep pace with the trends of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, affirming that the Government always accompanies farmers and the business community.
