PM okays UNICEF-funded project

VGP – The PM has approved a UNICEF non-refundable project on strengthening comprehensive childcare development and renovating the healthcare system in Viet Nam.

The project aims to strengthen the capacity of the healthcare system in mother-children area with a view to expanding coverage and improving the quality of integrated Early Childhood Development (IECD), including healthcare services, nutrition, environmental sanitation especially among the group of most vulnerable children. The project also targets to ensure social integration and social equity for targeted people.

It will be implemented in the 2017-2021 period in Ha Noi and three provinces namely Gia Lai, Kon Tum, and Dien Bien.

The ODA project values over US$ 5.1 million. The Vietnamese Government will contribute VND 16 billion and items worth VND 8 billion.

The PM tasked the Ministry of Health to review and implement the project./.
