PM okays HCM City-Long Thành-Dầu Giây expressway
(VNGOVNet) - On 10 January, following the recommendations from the Ministry of Transport (MT), the PM agreed in principle on the project to build an expressway from Hồ Chí Minh City to Long Thành and Dầu Giây by the Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC).

The PM delegated the MT to approve the project. About project funding, he appointed the Ministry of Planning and Investment as the chief performer in collaboration with the ministries of Transport and Finance to run a check on it and develop a plan to use State budget for the project, then submit it to him for decision.
The project has a cost of nearly VND 9,760 billion.
The 55-km long expressway runs through Districts 2 and 9 of HCM City and Long Thành, Nhơn Trạch and Thống Nhất districts of Đồng Nai Province.
It is designed to facilitate trade among the three economic centers of the southern region: Hồ Chí Minh City, Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu and Đồng Nai.
