The PM made that statement at a meeting with his Lao counterpart Thongloun Sisoulith on April 4 on the sidelines of the third Mekong River Commission (MRC) Summit in Siem Reap, Cambodia.

PM Phuc expressed thanks to PM Thongloun Sisoulith and Lao delegation for contributing to the success of the sixth Greater Mekong Sub-region Summit (GMS 6) and the tenth Cambodia – Laos – Viet Nam Development Triangle Summit (CLV 10) held in Ha Noi last week.

Both sides consented to actively launch agreements reached during leaders’ visits and the outcomes of the 40th meeting of the Viet Nam – Laos Inter-Governmental Committee, address issues for programs and projects, improve the efficiency of bilateral cooperation in 2018 and boost the implementation of the Viet Nam – Laos cooperation agreement for 2016-2020.

PM Phuc proposed the Lao PM facilitate Vietnamese investment in Laos, direct the implementation of the agreement on labor cooperation, accelerate the simplification of administrative procedures, reduce fees of labor licenses, visas and residence cards for the Vietnamese workers in the country as well as create favorable conditions to establish an Overseas Vietnamese Association in some provinces in Laos.

On the occasion of the upcoming Lao traditional New Year festival Bun Pi May, the Vietnamese leader conveyed New Year wishes to Lao leaders and people.
