PM leaves for 26th ASEAN Summit

VGP – PM Nguyen Tan Dung on Sunday left Ha Noi for Kuala Lumpur to attend the 26th ASEAN Summit from April 26-27 at the invitation of Malaysian PM Najib Tun Abdul Razak.

The Vietnamese Government chief was accompanied by Deputy PM, FM Pham Binh Minh, Minister-Chairman of the Government Office Nguyen Van Nen, and Minister of Trade and Industry Vu Huy Hoang.

Themed “Our people, Our community, Our vision”, ASEAN leaders will discuss key topics like ASEAN community building, post-2015 ASEAN community vision, ASEAN institution improvement, small and medium-size enterprise cooperation, intra trade expansion, regional peace and security, ASEAN role in the global arena among others.

As an active and responsible member of the bloc, Viet Nam’s participation in the Summit aims to further strengthen ASEAN connectivity while consolidating and enhancing the group’s solidarity, unity and role, especially in ensuring peace, security, cooperation and development in the region./.
