PM Phuc leaves for G20 Summit in Japan

VGP – PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc left Ha Noi for a visit from June 27 to July 1 to Japan where he will attend the G20 Summit at the invitation of his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe.

The PM was accompanied his spouse, and the Vietnamese high-ranking delegation, including  Minister-Chairman of the Office of the Government Mai Tien Dung, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung, Minister of Finance Dinh Tien Dung, Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh, Minister of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Tran Hong Ha, Minister of Information and Communication Nguyen Manh Hung, and Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien. 

The delegation also comprised Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son, Deputy Minister of Public Security Le Quy Vuong, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Le Hai An, and Vietnamese Ambassador in Japan Vu Hong Nam. 

Viet Nam is one of the eight special guests of Japan which host the Summit of G20, the group that covers two thirds of the world's population and 90% of global GDP. 

As a guest, Viet Nam was invited to participate in all sessions and make contribution to the Joint Declaration of the G20 Summit. 

PM Phuc is expected to deliver a speech at the plenary session of the G20 Summit in which he would share the vision, cooperative ideas and efforts of Viet Nam in dealing with global issues in favor of a peaceful and prosperous world where no one is left behind. 

Accordingly, key contents will be discussed at the event including global economy, trade, investment, innovation and digital economy, environment, energy, climate change, sustainable development, employment, women and health.

The PM’s attendance at the G20 Summit in Japan affirms the diplomatic guideline proposed in the 12th Party Congress, reflects actively the country's role at multi-lateral mechanisms improves the quality and effectiveness of the multi-lateral diplomatic works and introduces the image of Viet Nam with dynamic development, and a trusted and responsible partner in the international community. 

On this occasion, PM Phuc will have a working visit to Japan which is Viet Nam’s leading economic partner and the largest ODA provider. The visit is expected to promote the strategic partnership between the two countries and boost cooperation at regional and international forums./.
