The Government leader toured the construction categories under the project, such as Ben Thanh terminal, Opera House terminal and a section of TBM underground tunnel.

He highly appreciated the efforts made by the city and relevant units, particularly the project management board, in ensuring the progress and quality of the project as well as safety at work.

PM Phuc expressed his delight to see that 63% of the work volume has already been finalized up to date, hailing this as a significant result.

He stated that the Government and central ministries consulted with functional agencies to decide on the assignment of the adjustment of the project’s total estimates to HCM City in order to ensure the timely implementation of the project.

The metro line no. 1 project has a total length of 19.7km (with an underground passage of 2.6km and an elevated section of 17.1km), consisting of 14 terminals (3 underground and 11 elevated terminals). As planned, around 80% of the project’s work volume will be completed by the end of 2019.
