PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc made the above statement during his talks with Lao PM Thoonglun Sisulith who is now in Viet Nam to attend the 7th ACMECS and 8th CLMV Summits and WEF-Mekong.

The Government chief congratulated Laos on its successful organization of the 28th and 29th ASEAN Summits as ASEAN Chair, expressing his belief that the Lao Government will fulfill preset tasks and the Resolution of the 10th Congress of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party.

PM Phuc also welcomed his Lao counterpart’s recent dialoge with Vietnamese businesses and his pledge to facilitate Vietnamese businesses’ investment in the neighboring country.

He asked the two sides to work out measures to spur trade ties as the current trade volume remains decent.

Lao PM Thoonglun Sisulith extended his condolences to people in central Viet Nam over the damages caused by heavy rain and flood.

He expressed his belief that the two countries will continue tightening their traditional friendship and special solidarity while applauding PM Phuc’s recent measures to further strengthen the bilateral economic cooperation.
