The PM made that statement on July 29 while chairing a meeting on COVID-19 prevention work

The health and finance sectors and localities need to ensure capacity for the health system, particularly resources for testing so people suspected to bear a high risk of infection must be quickly sent for medical quarantine.

PM Phuc ordered the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Defense to provide more relevant vehicles and officials for Da Nang City and other localities which are in need.

Da Nang City must strictly implement social distancing in accordance with the Prime Minister’s Directive No.16 on urgent measures against COVID-19 while other localities should work out suitable plans to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, he demanded.

Phuc required the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Defense to enhance border management.

He asked people to wear face masks at crowed places, especially on public transport means.

The pandemic-hit regions are not allowed to organize big festivals or gatherings, he asserted.

The Government leader required localities and the Ministry of Education to make plan for ensuring the organization of the national high school examination.

Localities were requested to effectively manage population, ensuring social security and order and especially ensuring price stability and guarantee the supply of essential commodities for people.

He asked not only Da Nang City, Quang Nam Province, Thua Thien-Hue Province, Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City but also coastal localities such as Quang Ninh Province, Hai Phong City and Binh Thuan Province to launch more proactive measures in the COVID-19 fight.

As of early July 29, Viet Nam has confirmed 446 COVID-19 infection cases, of whom 369 have been cleared of the virus and recovered, making up 84.2%.

The central city of Da Nang has recorded 29 new COVID-19 infection cases over the past five days.
