The Government leader made the remarks during his reception for the Lao Minister of Energy and Mines, Khammany Inthirath, in Ha Noi on April 4.

He applauded the guest’s working visit to Viet Nam right after the 40th meeting of the Viet Nam-Laos Intergovernmental Committee in order to immediately implement the meeting’s results in the field of energy.

On the occasion of the Lao traditional Bunpimay Festival, the PM extended his best wishes to Inthirath and the Lao working delegation, while thanking the Lao Government for supporting Vietnamese businesses in their hydropower and mineral projects in the country over the past years.

At the meeting, both sides discussed a number of contents concerning the implementation of cooperation projects between Viet Nam and Laos in the areas of energy and mines.

Minister Inthirath informed his host of the outcomes of his working sessions with the Electricity of Viet Nam (EVN) and the Viet Nam National Oil and Gas Group (PVN) on the deployment of the agreements reached between the two Governments in terms of hydropower projects in Laos and the power purchase between the two countries.

He affirmed that the Lao side is willing to create the best possible conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to implement their investment projects in Laos.
