PM greets CEO of German software group SAP

VGP – PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc hosted a reception for Bill McDermott, CEO of German business software group SAP, one of the largest European software companies, in Ha Noi on September 21.

Addressing the meeting, PM Phuc hailed Germany as a trusted and important partner of Viet Nam in Europe, affirming that the Vietnamese Government always attaches importance to strengthening relations with Germany and its states.

He called for Germany’s stronger investment in Viet Nam, expressing his wish that the partnership between the two countries would continue to thrive extensively and effectively across all fields, especially in trade and investment cooperation.

The Vietnamese Government has begun to design new strategies and policies aiming to meet the requirements of digital transformation and the fourth Industrial Revolution, the PM said, stating that Viet Nam welcomes the world’s leading groups to share their experience and experts in the areas concerned.

Viet Nam is implementing programs on startups and business development, and wishes to cooperate and receive advice from SAP in researching and proposing policy recommendations on promoting innovative startups, forming the startup market, and developing enterprises in the future, he noted.

For his part, Bill McDermott thanked the Vietnamese Government for creating favorable conditions for foreign companies, including SAP, to do business in the country, while affirming that his group wishes to cooperate and contribute to creating strong transformations and bringing a bright future for Viet Nam.

He stressed SAP’s commitment to collaborating and accompanying Viet Nam in the development of digital areas, in addition to the fields of e-government building, reforms, development of small and medium-sized enterprises, and cyber security.
