PM expresses sympathy to flood victims

VGP – PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc has recently issued a public telegraph instructing response to flood consequences caused by the eighth tropical storm.

The eighth cyclone became tropical depression in the South Central Region, causing heavy rain, landslides, flooding, and serious losses in both properties and lives, especially in Khanh Hoa province. 

PM Phuc took the occasion to express his sympathy to the victims and difficulties experienced by the local administration.

The People’s Committee of Khanh Hoa and other localities in the South Central Region were asked to respond and surmount the flood consequences; search for missing people; treating injuries; providing shelters, food, and foodstuff for the victims. 

Local authorities were asked to evacuate people to safer places. 

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Ministry of Industry and Trade were assigned to ensure safety of hydro-electric lakes and irrigation dams. 

The Ministry of Transport was asked to promptly overcome landslide incidents and ensure transport circulation. 

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment was urged to keep a close watch on flood situation and provide updated information for people./.
